Abandon - Transformative Snake Pyrography

No matter where you are in your life journey snakes hold meaning. They are transformation and growth and renewal and rebirth. The snake symbol plays with the story of our soul's journey toward self-realization. This year I've had to shed quite a few skins that I've outgrown. Some of them were easier than others, some I'm still working through. It's funny to me, that sometimes the greatest healing can only happen after you swallow the poison meant to kill you. That sometimes death has to occur in order for us to truly live. As I was working on this piece I remember a thought ringing loud and clear -- As an artist, as a creator, my soul purpose is to transform and transmute the ugly shit this world and turn it to something beautiful.
